"The White Winter Wonderland"
Auli “A place where natural beauty comes alive with a combination of pleasure and adventure, the dense oak and pine forests and the snow capped slopes.”
When it comes to skiing, Auli is probably the second most heard name in India after Gulmarg. But, what some of us don't realize is that Auli, in the Chamoli District of Uttarakhand, is also a heaven for trekkers, regular backpackers and even families to just go chill amidst the white, snow covered, mountains. Located at an altitude ranging from 8,300 to 10,700 feet, the meadows of Auli and Gorson Bugyal are destined to take your breath away.
What’re you waiting for? Enjoy this untouched, mesmerising Himalayan beauty with OFF-ROAD-TRAVELLERS.
Starting from Delhi on an overnight trail to Joshimath with a halt at Rishikesh for snacks and to get freshen up. The mighty Ganges and its tributaries will accompany us on most part of the journey. The ride is long, so we will also be stopping for lunch on the way and arriving at Joshimath late afternoon.
Check-in at the hotel here and take some rest. Post that, we will be heading out for a market stroll and visit some local temples. Joshimath is an important part of the 4 Dhaam pilgrimage.
Dinner will be at the hotel.
Wake up early and leave for Auli and get ready for Skiing. Our instructors here will brief you on the basics of skiing, post which you will be sliding, swirling and falling in the snow.
Once done, we will trek to GMVN, a top restaurant in Auli, to have some Maggie and tea.
We then head for our trek up to Gorson Bugyal, be there till evening. Take the ropeway back to Joshimath. Dinner will be at the Hotel, followed by a Bonfire.
Start out after breakfast for Rishikesh. Pass on the same high mountain roads to reach Rishikesh by evening. Explore the Cafes and Hippie life of Rishikesh for the next few hours. We will continue our journey to Delhi overnight. We reach back on DAY 4 at 5AM and the day is all yours to seize as it’s morning!
